“My name is Holly Thibodeau, Owner of Southern Maine Hearing, and a Hearing Care Provider. In the summer of 2014, SMH was born. We are a local, independent, community-oriented practice. We designed a true patient-oriented company with all the assets that only a small, locally owned company can enjoy (a personalized hearing healthcare approach that provides the very best of hearing care coupled with second-to-none hearing healthcare services). A strong patient-provider relationship based on honesty, integrity, and values is what we strive for, and we feel that this is the best approach to making sure you don’t miss any of the precious moments in your life.
I am so blessed to work with such compassionate, energized, and highly skilled team members who are completely committed to helping you hear better. As a Mainer who lives in the neighboring town, it is so rewarding to serve the community in which I live, especially when I get to witness patients’ smiles or tears of joy as they walk out our door.
When I’m not helping patients, I enjoy spending time with my family. I love the ocean, cycling, and alpine & Nordic skiing. I feel so grateful to live in Maine so I can play outside with my family and friends in all four of our beautiful seasons!”

“Hello, my name is Jon Marquis, Hearing Care Provider. I started working with Southern Maine Hearing in December of 2021 after spending the previous 10 years as a Hearing Care Provider. I enjoy working with patients and feel honored to be part of their journey to better hearing. The atmosphere is really different here at Southern Maine Hearing. It’s a privilege to work with such a caring group of professionals who strive for excellence and patient satisfaction. When I’m not in the office you can find me either on a baseball diamond or enjoying time with my two lovely daughters and beautiful wife, Melissa.”

“My name is Stephanie Smith. I joined the team at Southern Maine Hearing in late 2021 upon entering the ranks of the semi-retired. Prior to SMH, I held administrative roles in both healthcare and education fields for nearly 30 years. I love supporting people who care for people, which certainly makes for rewarding and fulfilling days at SMH. Holly, Jon, and Lynn are each gifted and compassionate professionals, providing quality care to the greater Portland community. It is a pleasure and privilege to work alongside them to serve our clientele.
Outside of my work at SMH, I have a beautiful family and community of friends that I love to spend time with, enjoying all the great things Maine has to offer. A day on the water, woods, or mountains is a good day indeed!”
Lynn Plourde
Patient Care Coordinator
“My name is Lynn and I am the Patient Care Coordinator at Southern Maine Hearing. I have a degree in Medical Assisting and have been in the Audiology field for approximately 5 years.
I enjoy working in a patient-based clinic where every individual is treated with the utmost care and respect. It’s a wonderful place to work with knowledgeable and caring providers who truly enjoy helping others.
My interests outside the office include boating with my husband, Paul, playing music with my grandchildren, and spending time with family.”
